Baby Back Ribs – Art Of Grilled Meat Paradise

There is only one particular way of eating ‘Ribs’. Get all your ten fingers sticky with the glaze, have a little of the beautiful sauce on the sides of your mouth and go yummm with every single bite. The meat is ethereal on every single rib as it falls off the bone with a finger-licking gooey sauce, a smoky effervescence in every bite and a meat paradise like no other.

And eating-out just got messier with the launch of ‘Chili’s Baby Back Ribs’ festival across all their outlets. I love my Ribs the good old-fashioned way. Meat roasted slowly over wood-fire, drizzled with barbeque sauce, tender meat and a taste which can be hard to beat. But Chili’s has one upped the sauce quotient with 3 different sauces – Chipotle Blueberry, Cherry Cola and Roasted Garlic BBQ.

Getting to sink your teeth into the meat in the Ribs is pure carnal joy. Much like sensual eating. Being a person who likes to stick to basics, I absolutely adored the Roasted Garlic BBQ sauce Ribs. There is nothing better than the match made between barbeque sauce and ribs. Perfectly smoked and the sticky BBQ sauce to lick off your finger. I couldn’t have asked for more.

But the Cherry Cola and Chipotle Blueberry had me in a little bit of doubt. But one bite into the meat and I knew Cherry Cola was my go-to-flavor this season. It gives that inherent sweetness at the back of your mouth and yet doesn’t overlap on the taste of meat. Chipotle Blueberry on the other hand can be a bit of a humdinger with meat purists. Still a little confused on my stance with the Chipotle Blueberry, coz the strong flavor of blueberry masks the meaty flavor on the ribs. But Cherry Cola is an absolute standout and must try in the new launch menu at Chili’s. Although I wish the meat can be more succulent and falling off the bones, but the ribs are much better than we have had in hyderabad atleast.

Along with the Baby Back Ribs, Chili’s has also introduced a new menu to refresh things over. I loved their Fresh Tex Mex Bowls. A simple bowl of marinated grilled chicken, corns, black beans, rice, avocado and chipotle sauce. It’s simplistic yet elegant and one I’d like to settle down over a Blackberry Smash tequila and Crispy Onion Rings on the side.

People who like options on their plate can also opt for the Texas Trio which has the best of the menu on a platter. It’s a combination of garlic marinated grilled chicken, salmon and ribs. They are all served on a bed of fresh sautéed veggies, black bean rice and mashed potatoes respectively. Although the chicken served to us was completely dry and bland, we were given a new plate on feedback and the chicken can definitely do with more garlic and flavors.

To end the perfect meal at Chili’s is with the Chocolate Cheesecake. It isn’t the classic cheesecake per se but a huge glass of Oreo crumbs and whipped cream served in layers. But this rainy season if there is any need to get your hands dirty, the ribs are out there calling out to you.

Hey which Chilli’s is this? The one in Inorbit?

Nope. This is at the new Banjara Hills outlet. It features a much better new age design and also more spacious than the Inorbit one.
